Description
Mount Sinai (or Mount Moses) is the most famous mountain on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. According to the Bible, God appeared to Moses on this mountain and gave the ten commandments. On the top of Mount Moses are the remains of the chapel of the Holy Trinity, founded in 363 and completed in 530 under the Emperor Justinian. In 1934, the ancient stones of the clock were used to build a small mosque. It is located above the cave where Moses spent 40 days. When the darkness of the night turns blue, then blue, and the first ray of sunlight finally touches the sharp teeth, you are amazed to see what precipices and gorges are around here. In the north there is the temple of the Prophet Elijah with a well and the chapel of the Virgin for Orthodox pilgrims. The foot of Mount Moses is “guarded” by the Church of St. Catherine.
